Value Your Health NOW!

Health is Not Valued Until Sickness ComesHEALTH is not valued until sickness comes. Unfortunately, this statement is so true. I think sometimes we believe we will not be affected by the poor habits that we have developed and we continue on as usual. However, once something happens to us or someone close to us, our eyes start to open a little. I say a little because it sometimes takes multiple events for us to truly see how our habits are affecting our lives.

I will be the first to admit that I am guilty of this as well. I was not a healthy eater growing up and I honestly was not a fan of exercise, particularly cardio exercises. I did start to make the switch to eating more organic foods in my twenties, but I was not particularly concerned about eating veggies. In fact, I remember eating meals of baked beans and corn chips without even a thought of needing to eat veggies. I honestly had no clue! I thought I was eating healthy…and believe it or not, I was eating healthier than I did as a youth. Fortunately, I had friends who started to teach me about healthier foods/options and I began to add more fruits and veggies into my diet. However, it was not until I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, with the realization that the type of cancer I had may have been linked to pesticides, that I began to seriously make a switch to primarily organic. Then, several years ago, I started having nerve/pain issues (including peripheral neuropathy in my feet)…so, once again I started researching the potential causes and discovered that gluten and dairy could cause inflammation if we were sensitive to those foods. Therefore, I first cut out gluten and started to see a change and then I cut out dairy and the change became even more significant. Consequently, I adopted a gluten- and dairy-free diet and the combo of diet and having my thyroid levels in the optimal range has made a world of difference and I no longer suffer with the symptoms that had plagued me for so long. (Note: I’m not saying everyone needs to go gluten- and dairy-free to be healthy…as I believe everyone is different and we each need to figure out what foods may trigger reactions in each of us.)

So, I want to encourage you to be proactive with your wellness! I have chosen to remove as many toxins from my life as possible and choose products that will promote wellness and health…and avoid products and foods that work against me and how my body was designed to work.  I believe you will be amazed at what your body can do if you treat it right! Lastly, do your research! Learn how you can live abundantly now…yes, even when you are older! Don't know where to start? Ask me, and I will be glad to help you start your journey to health and wellness…and abundance!
