What Are Your Priorities?

Priorities (Priorities)I don’t know about you, but it has been a crazy week for me.  Both of my boys ended up with pink eye this week, and if you know anything about pink eye you probably know that it is VERY contagious.  So, as I said before, it has been crazy this week!  Imagine an active and extremely curious little two-year-old boy who is rubbing his eyes and then running around and touching everything.  Needless to say, I was happy when both boys passed the contagious period.

So, with all of the busyness this week, I finally had a chance this morning to get some much needed quiet time.  It’s truly is amazing how quiet the house can be when no one is home.  Therefore, as I was sitting and thinking about the week and feeling like I was behind on getting things done I started to reflect on my priorities…those things that are most important in my life.  I don’t know about you, but my faith and my family are the two most important things in my life.  So, as I was rewriting my goals…something that Chalene Johnson has encouraged me to do in her 30-Day Push challenge, I was thinking about what activities or goals best aligned with my priorities.

You might be wondering, how does this relate to fitness and nutrition?  Well, my health is one of my top goals/priorities because I want to be healthy for my family and I want to live an active life and enjoy time with my family.  I don’t want to sit on the sidelines and be a spectator.  Also, if you were to take a look at my family medical history you would find things such as heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer, obesity, and Type 2 Diabetes.  Consequently, I have made the choice – yes, it is a CHOICE, to make exercise and eating healthy a priority in my life.  I believe our health (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) is the foundation for every other aspect of our lives.  So, now I ask you, what is most important to you?  Are your choices in line with your priorities?  Lastly, think about where you want to be 10-years from now, are the choices you are making today going to get your there?

Have a wonderful day…and choose wisely! :)
